Kevin Calkins, MPT
Kevin is a long time Bull City resident. Imagine a time when there were no luxury condos and you could still smell tobacco downtown. Long time ago. Kevin remembers those days. While he has great affection for his home town, he is a two time Tarheel, having earned his undergraduate and PT degrees from UNC Chapel Hill. In his 20 year PT career, he has focused primarily on orthopedic care and particularly enjoys working with folks with spine related issues including back and neck pain and decreased ability to do things they have previously enjoyed. Kevin is certified in the McKenzie Method of evaluation and treatment (Certified MDT) of spine (back and neck) and of other joint and soft tissue injuries.
It seems no PT bio is complete without “he/she/they enjoy the outdoors and spending time with family and pets.” Check. Kevin enjoys those things too. In his younger days he was a competitive cyclist and runner. Now he would definitely strike “competitive” from that sentence. But casual bike rides and walks in the woods still make him happy and keep him moving. He will strive to understand your situation and your goals and help you achieve them. He may share a story or two with you along the way.
